  63. DEMO DISTRIBUTION
  64. You may distribute the non-registered shareware version of 
  65. Operation: Inner Space to others, but may not distribute Inner
  66. Space for direct or indirect profit by any means, except through express 
  67. written agreement with Software Dynamics, inc. In all cases, you must 
  68. abide by the following to distribute Inner Space:
  69. 1) You may only distribute a non-registered shareware version.
  70. 2) You must clearly show that the copy of Inner Space is unregistered 
  71. shareware and that Software Dynamics, inc is the sole owner of all 
  72. copyright and interest in the game.
  73. 3) You must include all files originally in this package.

  75. INSTALLING
  76. You must first be in the Windows environment to install Inner Space.
  77. 1) Unzip INSPACE.ZIP in a temporary directory. 
  78. There should be 27 files created, including SETUP.EXE. 
  79. 2) Run SETUP.EXE, the Inner Space installer.  
  80. 3) Install Inner Space to a new directory (C:\SPACE by default) or over an
  81. existing copy of Inner Space to upgrade it.

  83. STARTING TO PLAY
  84. Run Inner Space (INSPACE.EXE) from Windows.  During the game intro, press 
  85. 'ESC' to start a new game. Select a ship to fly into Inner Space.  To start
  86. playing, just use the arrow keys (Thrust=UP, Turn=LEFT, RIGHT, Brake=DOWN). 
  87. Use Shift or SPACEBAR to shoot. For more information about the game, see the 
  88. online help (press F1 or F2).

  90. SCREEN SAVERS 
  91. Inner Space comes with a configurable screen saver interface so that a 
  92. changing game demonstration can be your screen saving display.

  94. SHIP FACTORY
  95. With the Ship Factory, you can compare the characteristics of all the ships 
  96. in the game and also make custom ships for use in Inner Space!

  98. TECH SUPPORT
  99. We provide tech suppport by phone, fax, email, and regular mail.  If you have 
  100. access to CompuServe, GO GAMDPUB and look in section 18 (Software Dynamics) 
  101. for Inner Space upgrades, hints, and technical support.

  103. If reporting a problem with the game, please tell us if you can repeat the 
  104. problem and provide all information necessary for us to repeat it.  If we 
  105. can't repeat the problem, it will be very hard to fix it.

  107. MEMORY
  108. If the game halts with an error, it may be that Windows is low on memory.  
  109. Please check that Windows is set up to use at least 2Mb of virtual memory.  
  110. To see or change Virtual Memory settings, open the "386 Enhanced" item from
  111. the Windows Control Panel (CONTROL.EXE).
  112.  
  113. VIDEO DRIVERS
  114. Inner Space has been extensively tested, but there may be problems with some 
  115. video cards. We can devise workarounds for such cards if we know about the 
  116. problem. If there is a crash or error when the game is loading graphics, 
  117. please try to reproduce the problem and tell us so that we can get working 
  118. on a fix. 
  119.  
  120. MIDI MUSIC
  121. If Inner Space's music has incorrect or missing instruments, check your MIDI 
  122. mapper settings (in Windows Control Panel).  For Enhanced midi sound cards, use 
  123. channels 1-10, Basic midi sound cards use channels 11-16.
  124.  
  125. NO SOUND
  126. You need a Windows-compatible sound card to hear Inner Space's audio.  If 
  127. you have a sound card that works with other Windows apps, but don't hear any
  128. audio in Inner Space, you may have an older sound card which might not 
  129. report itself correctly to Windows.  Therefore, to force Inner Space to play 
  130. audio, add "AllowSound=1" to your [Inner Space] section of INSPACE.INI (in 
  131. your Windows directory).
